Reactions to Grubi Case and Ahmeti’s Comments on Ex-Deputy Pm Continue

Regarding the Lottery case, the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office said on Monday that when it came to ex-Deputy PM Artan Grubi, who was among the suspects, a national and international warrant had been issued, adding that domestic and international organs in charge of executing those orders had the authority to take all necessary measures, including summoning of other persons if they had information about the suspect’s whereabouts.

The Office’s press-release followed the comments made by PM Hristijan Mickoski, who had said he hoped DUI leader Ahmeti’s comments on Grubi’s whereabouts were reaching the Office’s ears. SDSM, too, believes the Office and Interior Ministry should summon Ahmeti.

The Interior Ministry, on its part, said it was taking all measures to find Grubi. Though it didn’t state whether and when it would summon Ahmeti, police pointed out everyone who could contribute to the ex-Deputy PM being returned to the country could be summoned.

Following the reactions, Ahmeti said on Monday he didn’t know where Grubi was.

“I have no detailed information about his current whereabouts. My statement yesterday was based on what has been publicly stated by Government representatives, but also on the fact that he legally crossed the North Macedonia-Kosovo border,” he stated.
