VMRO-DPMNE has fiercely reacted to journalist Branko Trickovski’s comments about VMRO-DPMNE leader and PM Hristijan Mickoski, made in a Facebook post about the news that an empty suitcase had been found on Wednesday at VMRO square.
Trickovski wrote, “They would pull the biggest trick if they stuffed Hristijan’s torn-apart body in the suitcase!”.
The ruling party referred to that as “dark propaganda”.
Later that day, Trickovski was summoned to the Lisice Police Station over his comment. As the journalist himself said on Facebook, officers came to his address at around 1 pm and handed him a summons to “immediately” report to relevant inspectors.
According to his post, police notified him that that was in relation to the aforementioned comment as well as to the one reading “Hristijan is a common name for manipulators that spread an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty…”.
The journalist stated he’d expected such reactions and the comment had been an intentional bait directed at party structures.
