Reactions to Stafa’s Testimony in Judge Ristov Trial

The prosecution does not base its case against Skopje Appellate Court Judge Gjoko Ristov solely on witness testimony, but also possesses electronic evidence and direct communication between the involved individuals, including Fehmi Stafa and Ljupcho Pecov, a.k.a. Gjavolot (The Devil), Prosecutor Iskra Hadji Vasileva said on Tuesday.

She made those comments after Stafa, in the capacity of Pecov’s attorney, had testified that the money he’d been caught with hadn’t been intended for Judge Ristov. In his testimony, he also added that he had pleaded guilty under pressure and out of fear.

On the other hand, Ristov’s attorney, Zvonko Davidovikj, stated that the testimony raised serious questions regarding the conduct of investigative and prosecutorial bodies, arguing that Stafa’s statement created dilemmas concerning the evidence in the case.
