There were no activities to pick up waste in Skopje on Wednesday either. Regarding the Interior Ministry’s actions, Spokesperson Goce Andreevski stated that police, upon an order from Prosecutors, had entered the previous day the premises of the City of Skopje and Communal Hygiene to collect evidence and seize documentation on suspicions of crimes related to the PE’s work and outgoing Mayor Danela Arsovska in relation to inaction when it comes to picking up communal waste.
“Documentation has been secured, while additional measures and activities are being taken according to instructions from the Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Offices”, he added.
However, Arsovska again levelled criticism at PM Hristijan Mickoski and VMRO-DPMNE’s staff.
“The garbage problem is a resolved topic. Jointly, with your staff, you create it and cause, in continuity, chaos that, since you’re “competent”, will be “solved” by you within 72 hours. Let’s conclude: Since it can be taken care of within 72 hours, it turns out it’s been easy to solve it. I don’t know why you’ve waited so far. I have called on you on many occasions to cooperate in the interest of citizens”, she underlined.
On the other hand, outgoing Environment Minister Izet Mexhiti, who will be the new Mayor of Cair, stated that Arsovska, DUI, and Levica were responsible for the waste problem in the capital.
