Reform Agenda Last Version: Disbanding Councils in Judiciary not Among Obligations

According to the last version of the Reform Agenda of the Growth Plan, too, the Government has assumed an obligation to implement judicial reforms that will however not include disbanding the Judicial Council and Council of Public Prosecutors.

Based on the document presented during the October 21 episode of the Top Tema (Top Topic) show on Telma, a new Judicial Council law will be adopted in accordance with the peer-review mission and according to the Venice Commission’s opinion.

The deadline for adoption is June 2025. The document also points to the procedure in which Judicial Council members whose term will end before the deadline will be elected, that is, that will be done according to procedures stemming from existing legislation.

Rules according to which the Council of Public Prosecutors’ and Public Prosecutor’s Office Laws will be changed are precisely laid down as well.
