SCPC to Submit Initiative for Prosecution of Merko in Head-Teacher Case

The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) will submit an initiative for criminal prosecution of Struga Mayor Merko over suspicions that he appointed an acting primary school head-teacher twice even though she didn’t meet the criteria.

She didn’t have the required work experience, nor did she possess a certificate about a passed head- teacher’s exam. The SCPC will file an initiative for the head-teacher herself and those who helped her falsify the documents needed to be named to be held criminally liable as well.

As it was explained on Friday, Merko didn’t task the school board with making a decision to appoint a head-teacher, even though that’s not a reason for the board to do so upon an own initiative.
