The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) still hasn’t received a request from Parliament to voice a stand on whether the procedure to elect the former’s President, following Tatjana Dimitrovska’s resignation, should continue or, due to the scheduling of the local elections, be put on hold.
It told Telma on Monday it would voice a stand if the legislature filed such a request.
Parliament, on its part, said it would file the request not later than Tuesday (12 August).
Also on Monday, the SCPC issued a press-release saying it would follow the entire election process and, in the event of grounds of suspicions over violation of provisions of the Electoral Code and Law on Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest, it would take measures to determine such suspicions, notify relevant organs, and request that activities be taken in the frames of their relevant actions.
