At a lecture on fight against corruption and Goce Delcev Primary School in Tetovo and Perparimi Primary School in Recica, on Thursday, State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) President Biljana Ivanovska said impunity and the non-rule of law in the system was the reason for the European Commission’s critical report.
In her view, to change the situation, most changes are needed in the judiciary. She reiterated her stand that the SCPC’s work is positively assessed in the document.
As Ivanovska added, if the judicial sector is OK, all others will be fixed quickly “because that sector needs to produce punishability, while the biggest risk of corruption, in addition to political influence, is impunity, that is, the non-rule of law,” she stated.
Asked whether a case over potential corruption will be opened, over accusations from the opposition about people close to the Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Artan Grubi, and the National Lottery, Ivanovska said that things were underway.
“An analysis should be carried out regarding the Ministry before we say what would happen next,” she noted.
