At a press conference on Thursday, SDSM’s International Cooperation Secretary, Andrej Zhernovski, said the EC’s Report on North Macedonia’s progress was catastrophic. In that regard, he emphasized that it constituted direct criticism of VMRO-DPMNE’s rule.
The Report, Zhernovski underlined, notes zero progress in the fight against corruption, public procurement, and media freedom, while the judicial branch continues to face political pressure.
VMRO-DPMNE rejected the accusations. The Report, it said, clearly states significant progress has been made in key areas, that preparedness for EU membership has increased, and that positive assessments have been recorded regarding the Reform Agenda.
