Over the air pollution situation in Skopje, SDSM has called for measures including free transport, money for filters, and cleaning activities, in addition to demanding an urgent session of the City’s Council. On Sunday, the party said that according to official data, the capital was the most-polluted city in Europe.
However, VMRO-DPMNE stated in response that it was hypocritical for SDSM to talk about the matter. According to the ruling party, during its rule from 2017 to 2024, SDSM could have reduced the pollution level by at least 10%, but the party’s priority was to build buildings.
On the other hand, SDSM stressed that the government had done nothing in the field, asking what had happened to PM Mickoski’s comments on the matter of one billion euros for clean air and reduction of pollution by 50%.
However, VMRO-DPMNE’s Council members said experts would prepare the implementation of measures foreseen within a plan to deal with the matter.
