SDSM Critical of Government’s Approach regarding Six-billion-euro Loan

Though SDSM has welcomed the Strategic Partnership with the UK, the opposition party disagrees with the Government’s approach when it comes to the part of the Agreement providing for a loan of six billion euros.

On Monday, Venko Filipce called on the cabinet to present all details of the deal regarding the interest rate and origin of funds.

Also, the opposition party’s leader stated that the manner in which the Agreement was being signed is anti-European because, as he noted, if the country joins the EU, it will be able to use the same projects through grants from Brussels instead of by using loans for which the repayment process will last decades.

In addition, Filipce asked whether, despite Mickoski’s stand on the issue of building migrant camps in the country, the PM was open to talks on the topics. However, Mickoski, said in response that the deal would only benefit citizens.
