SDSM has filed a committee amendment to the draft-Budget rebalance providing for 1.2 billion denars in financial support for those injured in the Kocani fire and families of those killed in the tragedy.
On Monday, MP Jovanka Trencevska, explained that the funds should be used to renovate and procure necessary medical equipment for the Kocani General hospital.
“62 young people were killed, while over 200 persons were injured, many of whom with permanent consequences. The Government has so far not invested enough to deal with the consequences”, she stressed, describing the amendment as a response to everyday appeals of families of those killed and injured in the 16 March nightclub fire.
Also on Monday, the opposition party filed an amendment providing for a 500-million-denar increase in funds for firefighting protection.
