SDSM Leader Filipce Comments on Several Topics

On Wednesday, SDSM leader Venko Filipce was asked by a journalist to comment on a photo that had been posted on social media showing ex-SDSM leader, ex-PM, and ex-President Branko Crvenkovski having dinner at a restaurant in Ohrid with Mayor Kiril Pecakov (who’s part of VMRO-DPMNE and running for another term), VMRO-DPMNE MP Sase Donev, and Marina Gorgovska, carrier of ZNAM’s list of Ohrid Council candidates.

He said, “Regarding the photo that’s been posted on social media yesterday showing the former SDSM leader, Branko Crvenkovski, I can just quote the former SDSM leader, Branko Crvenkovski, which is: ‘You’re either SDSM or you’re not’”.

Filipce also commented on the issue of early parliamentary elections and EU path.

“The government should say what we will do. For instance, what is the next step for us to proceed on the European integration path?! We’re seeing inconsistency in the statements of the PM, Hristijan Mickoski. Sometimes, he’s saying there’ll be early elections, whereas other times he’s saying there will not be early elections. I consider he’s aware that he will never win as many votes and MP seats as he did last year because people have come round”, the SDSM leader stressed.

Filipce also criticised the government’s economic policies, saying it had made Macedonia the most indebted country in the Balkans, with an all-time low when it comes to implementation of capital investments. However, VMRO-DPMNE refuted his accusations.

“Obviously, his advisers haven’t done the homework for him. Instead of informing, they’re trying to politically make him slip through inaccurate data on the economy”, the ruling party noted.
