In the frames of the Congress of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in Berlin, SDSM leader Venko Filipce met with ex-German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“On behalf of SDSM and all our citizens, Filipce expressed honest gratitude for the strong and principled support that Germany, under Scholz’s leadership, would provide for Macedonia in the EU integration process, but also for the continued support from the Government and SPD, SDSM’s sister-party, for protection of the Macedonian identity”, SDSM said in a press-release on Saturday.
Filipce expressed particular gratitude for the 2023 Bundestag resolution concerning North Macedonia’s EU path, as well as, inter alia, the Macedonian identity and language.
“That was the result of SDSM’s statesperson-like policy and cooperation with the German Social Democrats. The current government’s wrong policies in the past year have compromised all this success”, the SDSM leader noted.
