On 2 August, Ilinden Uprising Day and Day of the Republic, SDSM leader Venko Filipce paid a visit to Krusevo.
Extending congratulations on the occasion of the holiday, he called for the classification into so-called patriots vs. traitors to be put aside, stressing true patriotism was about advancing the country.
Filipce believes that 2 August is a reminder of all sacrifices made to create the foundations of the Macedonian modern state.
“However, we must admit that our peacetime struggle is not over, that we must work much harder to finally become a part of Europe, where we belong from a civilizational, cultural, and geographical standpoint. All of us together must work and leave aside both divisions and classifications into patriots and traitors because true patriotism is only about advancing our country”, the opposition leader emphasized.
