SDSM Publishes Draft-Resolution against Accepting Failed Asylum Seekers

SDSM published Thursday the Draft-resolution against accepting failed asylum seekers from third countries in North Macedonia.

In the resolution, SDSM demands the Parliament to ban accepting asylum seekers from third countries and persons for which it has been determined they have no legal grounds to stay in third countries, to prevent treatment of asylum seekers as subject of financial transactions between countries, to conclude the state has no capacity and social cohesion to accept asylum seekers, to adapt to EU regulations on these matters instead of on bilateral agreements, to secure transparency and accountability in the entire process, and to call for national unity over this matter.

In meantime, Foreign Affairs Minister Timcho Mucunski stated that the government neither conducts nor will conduct policies for accepting asylum seekers from third countries, and qualified SDSM’s claims as mere political attempts for defocus of the public from their low ratings and lack of ideas to offer the citizens.
