SDSM: Tomovski Granted Governmental Tenders to His Family Businesses

SDSM’s recently established Anti-Corruption Team revealed on Saturday the first alleged affair by a governmental official they have discovered.

As SDSM member Aleksandar Dimitrijevikj stated at a press conference, they acquired information that the Head of the Governmental Department for General and Common Affairs, Ivica Tomovski, allegedly concluded 161 governmental tenders with a company owned by family members of his, in total value of around EUR 5.3 million.

“Contracts were concluded with City logistic, a company based in Struga and founded by Vitomir Tomovski, the father of Ivica Tomovski. On several occasions later, the company changed its name, so it can apply for more tenders”, Dimitrijevikj said, demanding responsibility from Tomovski, and calling upon institutions of the state to investigate the case. Tomovski responded, denying the accusations.

“I neither own, nor hold any stakes in the company mentioned by SDS. I have no private business engagements whatsoever at the moment, in order to be fully dedicated to my obligations in the government. SDS will have to apologize for placement of these blatant lies, or else I shall have to file a slander lawsuit”, Tomovski stated.

SDSM responded to his statements, saying that they “do not apologize to criminals” and that they are not intimidated by his warnings for slander lawsuits.
