SDSM Will Not Support Safe City-related Law-Changes

SDSM leader Venko Filipche announced at a press conference Wednesday that the MP group of SDSM will not endorse the Safe City-related law-changes in the Parliament.

“We cannot allow a partial implementation of regulations. We care for people’s safety and security in traffic, but we also very much care for the protection of their personal data, something which the government neither regulates nor guarantees. The Draft-law in its current form does not state whether and how the supervision of the data-storage system will be regulated”, Filipche said.

He went on to criticize PM Hristijan Mickoski, stating that with his behavior, he has brought politics in North Macedonia “down to a tabloid level”.

“The government is pushing sensational announcements in the public in order to hid behind them the actual problems that bother the public, like the lack of funds in the state budget, the low living standards etc.”, Filipche said.
