On Thursday, the State Election Commission (SEC) confirmed the election of mayors in 29 municipalities, in addition to the City of Skopje. Regarding municipalities in the capital, it confirmed the election of Goran Gerasimovski and Dejan Miteski as Centar and Aerodrom Mayors, respectively.
Kicevo, Tetovo, Kumanovo, Dojran, Struga, Probistip, Kocani, Vinica, Demir Kapija, and all other municipalities where there was a second round got new mayors, too, except Brvenica. The SEC also considered and rejected all 16 objections concerning the procedures to vote and sum up results in Brvenica, Suto Orizari, and Karpos.
“Tomorrow, individual decisions will be drawn up for each objection that will be filed to submitters. The SEC will wait for the legal deadlines on potential lawsuits in the following 24 hours, after which, if there are lawsuits, the Court has the duty to act in the 48-hour period after it receives the lawsuits. If there are no lawsuits, once the deadlines expire, that is, once the decisions are final, the SEC will hold a session to present the final results concerning Brvenica, Suto Orizari, and Karpos Municipality”, SEC President Boris Kondarko explained.
Also on Thursday, in its report concerning paid political advertising (PPA) during the first round of the local elections submitted to the SEC, the Media Agency stated that there had been 562 hours 37 minutes and 53 seconds of PPA on all radio and TV stations.
