SEC Rejects Objections Concerning Voting Process

On Thursday, the State Election Commission (SEC) rejected all 20 objections concerning the voting process.

Three of them, filed by independents and Treta (Third) concerning Prilep and by Levica concerning Gjorce Petrov, were rejected immediately as irregular. The SEC also rejected the objection filed by the DUI-led coalition, National Alliance for Integration, requesting that the material at a polling station in Butel be opened.

The VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition’s objections concerning Krivogastani, Bogdanci, and Caska were rejected as well. Also, regarding Caska, SDSM withdrew its own objection.

During the session, a group of citizens gathered outside the SEC building to express support for Suat Shaqiri, the DUI-led coalition’s mayoral candidate in Caska, who will most likely be the new Mayor of the Municipality.

Regarding Dolneni, the SEC rejected the Experience for Success coalition’s objection alleging there had been issues with family voting and providing help during the voting process. SEC President Boris Kondarko stated that parties, very often, filed remarks in a very belated fashion, when the result was not in their favour.
