Seven Wildfires still Active in Country

Seven wildfires are still active in the country, 16 have been put out, while four have been put under control, the Crisis Management Centre said on Wednesday.

The situation is most serious when it comes to the wildfire on Makedonski Brod’s territory that is moving towards the Jasen hunting ground.

Two planes and one helicopter are part of the efforts, and there are fire-fighting activities from the ground too. In the afternoon, the Centre said a strong fire had broken out in the barn of a house in Novo Selo that had spread onto three other houses.

After the fire had been put out, Novo Selo Mayor Gjorge Bozinov said nobody was injured, adding nonetheless that two of the three houses had been fully destroyed.
