Severe Storm Seriously Impacts Power Distribution Infrastructure

Tuesday’s severe storm in multiple cities seriously impacted power distribution infrastructure. Nevertheless, 90% of outage problems have been solved. Due to damage and several hundred fallen utility poles, 2,308 EVN transformer stations were left without power.

Nationwide, 300 transformer stations currently remain without power, as fallen vegetation completely blocks access in many areas, further complicating repair work, EVN was quoted as saying by Telma in its 2:11 p.m. report. However, intensive work on the ground is underway. Activities will continue until there is complete normalization.

The storm damaged several health institutions too. At 8 Septemvri (September 8) City General Hospital, a part of the old roof structure was damaged. Fallen trees were reported on the ground area of both the Clinical Center and the Psychiatric Hospital in Bardovci.
