President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova said Wednesday that she expects SDSM to overcome the intra-party crisis and to once again become a strong opposition and active factor in society.
This follows after the entire management of SDSM, except its leader Venko Filipche, resigned from their party positions during a meeting of the party executive committee on Tuesday evening.
“SDSM has structures and democratic mechanisms to resolve its issues, which is good for them and for democracy – a strong opposition is essential as the government’s corrector. Many parties worldwide have faced similar crises. With its long history and past successes, I hope SDSM quickly overcomes this one with the help of its members and returns as a strong actor in Macedonian democracy”, Siljanovska Davkova said during an event at the Partenija Zografski elementary school.
