On Wednesday, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova said on social media that she’d held a brief meeting with US counterpart Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in The Hague.
“A brief meeting with US President Donald Trump, a symbolic gesture of respect and partnership. We remain committed to the alliance with the US as a key strategic partner of ours in the frames of NATO and beyond”, she said in the post.
Afterwards, asked about what she and her US counterpart had talked about, Siljanovska Davkova stated that that she’d said what was most important was for peace to be preserved.
When she was saying that the U.S. Vice President had been with him, too, she referred to him as “DJ Vance” instead of “JD Vance”.
“He said he and our Foreign Minister knew each other and that it was possible for him to visit our country. I told him I’m the Macedonian President, to which he had an interesting reaction, body language-wise. I told him it was most important for peace to be preserved”, she stated.
