National Bank Governor Slaveski doesn’t intend to resign over the case of Vice Governors with an expired term. On Tuesday, instead of answering why there was no compliance with the law and why he’d sent the nominations to Parliament just recently, he described the question as tendentious, Kanal 5 said in its report.
Pointing to Article 3 paragraph 55 of the National Bank Law, he stressed that it hadn’t been broken, though, according to the TV station, it fully says the Vice Governors could continue work until the election of new ones, but only for a maximum of two months, not, according to his interpretation, for an unlimited period of time.
Asked whether he felt accountability for the wait, he told the Kanal 5 journalist to talk to his editor about that “and ask him what the motives for this attack on the central Bank are, I know them very well”.
