All employees of State Attorney’s Office have started the announced strike. The 120 employees will not do their job until their three demands, a salary supplement of 30%, signing of collective agreements, and a new law on state legal service, considering they still work on the basis of the Administrative Servants Law, are met.
If they are given the supplement, that will cost the state around 220,000 euros (another 100-150 euros per employee) a year.
“That’s not a big amount and isn’t supposed to be a problem for the state”, Trpe Deanoski, head of Trade Union of Workers in Administration, Judicial Bodies, and Associations of Citizens, told Sitel on Wednesday.
On the other hand, the Government’s stand is that the strike is illegal because it is not being organised in line with law and colleactive agreements. As it pointed out, considering no legal condition has been met, there is also a suspicion of it having a political background.
