Stojanovska Meets Criteria to Serve as Agency Deputy Head, Says President’s Cabinet

According to President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova’s Cabinet, Ivana Stojanovska meets criteria to serve as Deputy Head of the Intelligence Agency, a post she’s held since June.

The Cabinet’s stand is that her length of service and work experience in the field of security should include also her activities at the AUE-FON University’s Faculty of Detectives and Security.

It has told Telma that she was appointed to a managerial position by the previous Director of the Agency not only because she was an exceptional student during her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, but also as a result of her engagement from 2007 to 2014 as Assistant in ICT and the specific courses at the Faculty, which represents relevant working experience in the field of security and foreign policy.

The questions were asked for the needs of the KOD (CODE) show episode broadcast on 2 March. In the episode, it has been said the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) stopped the procedure and moved it to the Prosecutor’s Office, which has opened a process over the case.

However, it remains arguable that the SCPC hasn’t decided whether Stojanovska meets criteria to be appointed because the Office has the jurisdiction only to prosecute crimes, while not meeting criteria to hold a position is not a crime.
