SDSM’s candidate for Mayor of Skopje, Kaja Sukova, challenged her opponent from VMRO-DPMNE, Orce Gjorgjievski, to a debate over the issues with the Vardariste landfill.
“Gjorgjievski claims to transform Vardariste into a park. Well, let us compare our visions. I will bring all the facts and results, and then let the citizens be the judges about whose vision is better. 4 years now VMRO-DPMNE avoid to deal with their duties as local self-government, because the law clearly states that waste management is a local responsibility. The current situation at Vardariste is the result of the management by the City of Skopje, managed by VMRO-DPMNE and their Danela Arsovska”, Sukova said.
