The Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, acting upon a criminal charge, has ordered investigative proceedings against three people from Skopje: 33-year-old B.D., 29-year-old M.D., and 25-year-old S.E.
They’re suspected of criminal association and unauthorized manufacture, possession, mediation and trade in weapons or explosive materials. During the pre-investigative procedure, it was determined there was suspicion that the people had been organizing retaliation over last year’s conviction of their brothers, found guilty of terrorist organization.
Based on evidence collected so far, the suspects acted in a coordinated and organized fashion, as a group with a common ideological orientation, founded on radical Islamic narratives. There’s suspicion that activities would be taken to collect money from North Macedonia and abroad that was used for propaganda and activities of the Islamic State group, as well as to get weapons.
The three suspects have each been issued a 30-day detention measure.
