Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski said Tuesday, following the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office decision to continue proceedings in the Mazut case, that the key issue is whether citizens will ultimately see justice. He expressed hope that prosecutors would “gather the courage” to professionally examine all details related to the case and others.
Toshkovski also said information shared with him by investigators involved in the case could “shock the public” once made public, but declined to provide further details, saying the investigation should speak for itself.
The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje on Monday overturned an order to halt the investigation into fuel oil procurement for the Negotino Thermal Power Plant (TEC Negotino) and instructed the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption to continue the proceedings.
