The trial of nine police officers accused of abuses related to the 2025 Kochani nightclub fire continued on Monday. At the hearing, the defense elaborated on its evidentiary proposals, including 16 documents and eight witnesses.
Attorney Branko Kolev, defense counsel for defendant Bobi Gidioski, also proposed the owner of Pulse, Dejan Jovanov, as a witness. He is to testify regarding prosecution allegations that Jovanov was afforded a financial benefit in the form of a salary he received as an employee over a six-month period.
Some of the proposed documents relate to the operations of the Interior Ministry and the Shtip Internal Affairs Sector, while others pertain to information on problems at the nightclub, which the defense claims was concealed by Gidioski during his tenure as head of the Shtip Sector.
