Trial over Oncology Clinic 1 Case Continues

The trial over the Oncology Clinic 1 case continued on Wednesday. A witness for the Prosecutor’s Office stated in her testimony that she would pay a bribe to the institution’s ex-head, Nikola Vasev, for therapy.

As she explained, whenever a medication needed to be taken, they would go to Vasev’s office, where he would take the necessary therapy out of a fridge, while they’d previously agreed for him to receive around 500 euros each time.

“The therapy would be taken by a nurse who would give it to my husband at the day hospital”, the witness said.

Vasev reacted, describing her testimony as defamatory, stressing he had never asked for money, while his defence asked why a report hadn’t been filed if he had asked for funds.

Seven witnesses testified on Wednesday, some of whom talked about Doctors Simonida Crvenkova and Dragan Jakimovski, who are defendants as well. One of the witnesses said regarding Doctor Crvenkova that she would give her money only to treat her mother better and that she believed her mother’s life would be saved.

However, Crvenkova denied that she would take money, adding that it was about patients with metastases.
