Police officers intervened during a physical incident in Stip during a football match between the youth teams of the football clubs Bregalnica and Shkupi.
The incident was caused around the end of the game, when one of the players of Shkupi, revolted that he was given a red card, assaulted the players from the opposing team who were nearby, after which three adult men, namely parents of some of the players of Shkupi, entered the pitch and attempted to assault the Bregalnica players too.
This provoked reactions by other people in the audience who entered the pitch too, and a mass fight broke out.
The incident resulted with two injured players from Bregalnica, one with fractured nose and another with fractured leg, which were rushed to a hospital in Stip.
The police intervened, arresting a 43-year-old man, one of the parents of the players from Shkupi, and will probably file charges against him for assault.
