Two Police Officers Face Disciplinary Measures for Letting Grubi, Bajrami Flee

The Interior Ministry informed on Wednesday afternoon that it has initiated disciplinary procedures against two police officers who worked at the Blace border control point the moment former First Deputy PM Artan Grubi left the country.

“One of the police officers in question registered that A.G. crossed the border on foot, even though they were using a motorised vehicle. A.G. crossed the border with a passport of a common citizen, while his driver A.P. used a diplomatic passport. This was revealed by security camera footage from 15 December, the day they left the country, revealing that the police officers in question let them cross, even though they were registered in the system as persons that should be temporarily held and immediately reported to the ministry.

The other police officer, who was chief of shift at the moment, was informed by his subordinates that the mobile security camera systems have ran out of batteries, but did not authorise them to change the batteries, and did not register the technical problem, which is violation of the regulations”, the Interior Ministry informed.
