Two Suto Orizari Election Boards Dismissed and to Be Charged

Two election boards in Suto Orizari have been dismissed by the State Election Commission (SEC).

They will be charged, while, also, based on the Law on Administrative Servants, their respective employers will be notified. On election day, they changed the minutes that had initially been accepted by the Municipal Election Commission and the SEC because they didn’t even think there was something irregular on minutes signed by all election board members, even authorised representatives of candidates.

The case was discovered following an objection filed by a political party, when it was determined the minutes didn’t match the factual situation. It’s about polling stations where the vote has already been annulled by the Administrative Court.

“The Prosecutor’s Office can consider this to be a case upon rumour and doesn’t have to wait for us to submit evidence to press criminal charges even though we, too, will do that”, SEC President Boris Kondarko stressed on Monday.

As the SEC explained, since minutes are considered a public document, changing them is considered a crime.

It’s interesting that the minutes were signed by nine members of the election boards, but authorised party representatives didn’t even react. Therefore, there will also be additional activities to determine whether the change of the minutes was made after the election process.
