The Government hasn’t given a concrete answer as to whether there will be new attempts to adopt the draft Electoral Code after the summer recess period of Parliament (from August 1 to 31).
On Wednesday, PM Mickoski stated that that didn’t depend on his party, VMRO-DPMNE. Currently, the focus is on laws that are in a grace period until December of this year, he added. Regarding that, the PM had an online meeting with the EC’s DG NEAR Director General, Gert Jan Koopman.
Also on Wednesday, however, the ruling party continued to accuse SDSM, Levica, and DUI over the Code issue. VMRO-DPMNE believes that the three parties consider creating a political conflict to be more important than contributing to a solution in the interest of the country.
