Regarding Tuesday’s arrest in an extortion case, Sitel has reported that, according to unofficial information, a musician from Kumanovo, Bekim Kumanova, borrowed 30,000 euros eight years ago from Shenoll Masllani, who is associated with the Baron-Belanoca clan, to buy music instruments.
There was a verbal agreement for Kumnova to pay 16% of the amount every month (every first day of the month). So, in the eight-year-period, he’s paid around 300,000 euros over a 30,000-euro debt.
However, in the 4-5 years prior to the arrest, Bekim had constantly received death threats against him and his family from both Shenoll and his cousin, Faruk Masllani, both associated with criminal activities of the Baron-Belanoca group.
The last deal that was made was for Kumnova to pay an additional 165,000 euros for his debt to be considered fully repaid. However, due to the longtime torture, as well as because they would constantly demand that he pay money with interest, Kumanova decided to report them to the police for extortion. Therefore, when Shenoll was arrested on Tuesday, at a petrol station in Kumanovo, the money was in marked bills.
When it comes to Faruk Masllani, he had been at large even before the arrest. Police are still looking for him.
