In the so-called Cuban vaccines case, acting on a formal criminal complaint against an individual for the offenses of fraud under Article 247 and quackery under Article 209 of the Criminal Code, the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Veles obtained search warrants for multiple locations.
Law enforcement authorities are gathering evidence regarding suspicions that the suspect, seeking unlawful financial gain, deceived multiple people by fraudulently marketing alleged “Cuban cancer vaccines”.
During a search conducted at the suspect’s workplace in Veles, investigators seized evidence that will undergo forensic analysis. Electronic equipment was also confiscated, and other investigative measures were carried out.
The competent prosecutor is interviewing victims and potential witnesses capable of providing relevant information to fully look into the case.
The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Veles also submitted a motion to the court requesting precautionary measures — namely, the surrender of the suspect’s travel documents and a mandatory regular check-in schedule with the court.
