VLEN and DUI React to Second Round of Local Elections

On Sunday night, VLEN stated that according to the results of the second round of the local elections, it was positioning itself as the second-strongest political force in the country.

“We’ve had a convincing victory in almost all municipalities where we entered the second round, Tetovo, Bogovinje, Debar, Dolneni, and Struga. Thank you for the support that’s confirmed our vision”, Bashkim Bakiu of the coalition’s election HQ noted.

According to VLEN, voters have clearly said ‘No’ to DUI’s policies. In that regard, Bakiu called on Ali Ahmeti to resign as leader of that party.

Regarding the second round, Ahmeti was quoted as saying by Koha that the legitimacy of every political vision stemmed from the trust of citizens. That trust, he added, has not been harmed, but rather strengthened.

“The victory of the people’s and municipal vote, with a difference of over 23,000 votes, is a moral and political mandate that puts us under the obligation to continue more united, more disciplined, and more committed to citizens”, he stressed.

In his speech at the party’s seat, the DUI leader underlined that the losses with regards to several positions at a municipal level would serve as a call for in-depth analyses, for a renewal of strategies, and for a correction of potential shortcomings in order for citizens to be offered more and better things.
