The VLEN coalition said it respects the outcome of the first round of local elections in Brvenica, noting that its mayoral candidate, Jakup Huseini, congratulated frontrunner Arkin Jahiji immediately after the vote and offered support ahead of the runoff.
In a statement, VLEN said responsibility for mobilizing voters now rests with Jahiji and his coalition, while criticizing what it described as divisive rhetoric and attacks from the opposition.
The coalition stressed that its voters have been encouraged to support Albanian unity and the Albanian candidate in the second round, warning that any political bargaining involving Brvenica would constitute a betrayal of voters and residents of the municipality.
