VLEN Becomes One Party, Mexhiti and Kasami to Serve as Co-leaders

In the presence of 850 delegates, at a congress in Skopje on Saturday, the five parties part of the VLEN coalition united into a single political entity. Chair Mayor Mexhiti and Tetovo Mayor Kasami were elected co-leaders.

“Now, we are in power and represent Albanians in North Macedonia. After the spectacular victory in the local elections, where we won in 70 percent of Albanian municipalities, we worked, debated all models, and ultimately decided that this is the best model for VLEN”, Mexhiti said.

The congress was also attended by PM Mickoski and his Kosovan counterpart, Kurti. Commenting on the transformation, DUI ironically said VLEN had united in order to disintegrate together.

According to Ahmeti’s party, the fact that there are two co-leaders shows there is full distrust and fragmentation.

“Albanians don’t deserve political experiments”, DUI emphasized.
