VLEN is nominating Bekim Sali to succeed 1st Deputy PM Izet Mexhiti, who has resigned and already received the State Election Commission (SEC) certificate to be the new Mayor of Cair.
However, it’s still unknown whether Sali or someone else will assume the position of Environment and Physical Planning Minister. The Government told Telma on Tuesday that there’d been neither changes nor negotiations when it came to who would succeed Mexhiti within the cabinet.
Regarding ZNAM Spokesperson Nikola Memov’s comments over VLEN and VMRO-DPMNE in relation to the Skopje mayoral race, the latter stated on Tuesday that there were no problems within the ruling coalition.
Memov, on social media, stated that his comments that VLEN had played VMRO-DPMNE by not voting for Orce Gjorgjievski, which had been a big mistake, were a personal stand, not a position of his party.
