VLEN Responds to DUI’s Accusations, Taravari’s Wing Officially Decides to Leave Government

In response to DUI’s accusations, VLEN has said that it represents, in the frames of the ruling structure, 107,000 ethnic Albanian voters as well as the political program on fighting corruption supported by those voters.

“Therefore, VLEN remains committed to delivering on its promises and representing Albanians. We are aware of the political game of DUI, which, out of thirst for power and fear of justice, is aspiring towards a Prizino format of government. However, that is impossible and will never happen.

To us, it’s unclear why Arben Taravari has become part of this game of Ali Ahmeti to save himself and his family. However, VLEN would like to notify the public that the only polls will be held are the local elections one, where we will bring changes and finally defeat the crime, corruption, and incompetence of DUI and its officials over the past 23 years”, it said in a press-release on Monday.

However, previously, in Vrapciste, Taravari had stated that there hadn’t been support for changes ethnic Albanians asked for and expected.

“In some way, the government has lost itself on the EU path. If you take a look at the state administration state of affairs, there’s great marginalization and a tendency to marginalize Albanians. We’re leaving the cabinet to come back stronger, especially within local authorities and then at a central level”, Taravari underlined.

On Monday, at around 9 pm after a meeting of the wing, Taravari said a decision had been made to leave the government and become part of the opposition. Explaining the decision, he cited dissatisfactions with matters such as the Balancer tool and Law on Languages.

“We will return to citizens. Alliance for Albanians is a unique party”, Taravari stressed.
