VLEN’s Saranda Imeri levelled fierce accusations on Wednesday at DUI leader Ali Ahmeti and the European Front, led by his party.
“Ahmeti, who was once commander Abaz Gjuka, has become a buddy with the kings of striptease and gambling. The public got to know his nephew, Drin, in the Soravia scandal in June 2023, when, as a 24-year-old, he bought a trade centre covering an area of 13,000 square metres in the central part of Skopje for a mind-boggling 20 million euros.
It’s about a scheme of suspicious financial transactions being investigated by the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption, which, inter alia, is seeking international legal aid also from US authorities.
Fearing they’d been caught, Ahmeti’s nephew left the infamous company, Thor Industries, on the eve of the election campaign, on 13 March 2024.
However, the Office then said that his withdrawal couldn’t save him from being held liable. Drin’s company was taken over by the one of the king of striptease bars in Dallas, Nazar ‘Nick’ Mehmeti, whose name is ‘Texas American International Holdings’. Exactly he, in July 2023, immediately after the registration of Thor Industries, transferred to Drin a loan of three million euros without that loan’s purpose being defined,” Imeri stressed.
In addition, she said that Ahmeti’s other nephew, Besian Ahmeti, too had been involved in shady dealings.
