VMRO-DPMNE Continues to Level Accusations at Jakimovski

VMRO-DPMNE has continued to level accusations at Karpos Mayor Stevco Jakimovski (who’s running for another term) over the Zdanec property issue, asking again how is it possible that, in one calendar year, Jakimovski and his family became the owners of two construction parcels in the most expensive zone in Karpos.

In the press-release, issued on Thursday, it also reiterated that the family had also bought a luxurious villa in Greece in the same one-year period.

“Jakimovski has for long tried to present his governance as an example of “transparency”, but, in reality, he could serve as an example of how personal interest can be hidden behind an official stamp and public duty”, VMRO-DPMNE pointed out as well.

The same day, at a press-conference, Marija Miteva, member of the party’s Executive Committee, levelled new accusations. As she pointed out, the Apolo Inzinering company, through a privatisation process, has completed the formation of a parcel in Vlae, as well as a street in the frames of that, where Jakimovski had previously established an allotted building plot for a building.

“The privatisation decision says that Apolo Inzenering submitted two geodetic studies in the accompanying documentation on privatisation. The exact date when the studies were submitted is not referred to, but it can be seen that they were drawn up after the Detailed Urban Plan [DUP] had been adopted. One was drawn up towards the end of 2016, while the other in 2017. In the 2016 one, it is said that the parcels for which privatisation is requested are part of a construction parcel foreseen in the Plan, while the other cadastral parcels comprising the construction parcel are in the 2017 one”, Miteva underlined.

One of the parcels in relation to which the company requested a privatisation process is part of Esperanto Street, outside the Kino Vlae location, she explained as well. For the privatisation process, Miteva stressed, Apolo Inzinering paid just 285 denars per square metre, that is, some amount over 3,500 euros because it was given a price reduction of 35%.

“The purchase contract says the property was sold at a price of 2,950,000 denars, VAT included”, the VMRO-DPMNE Executive Committee member emphasised.

The Vlae DUP was abolished by the Constitutional Court after Stevco Jakimovski had returned to the position of Mayor in 2021, but he, according to VMRO-DPMNE, reintroduced to procedure with two planned high-rises.

Miteva stated that Jakimovski had continued to push the construction of buildings in Vlae as hard as he could. That’s why, Miteva underlined, “such action” should be ended by voting for the VMRO-DPMNE-endorsed candidate, Sotir Lukrovski, in the second round of the Karpos mayoral race, on 2 November.
