“Macedonia is painted in red. From Kicevo to Kocani. From Brvenica to Valandovo. Citizens have made the right choice. With a victory in 54 municipalities and the City of Skopje, VMRO-DPMNE is the absolute winner in these local elections”, ruling party Vice-President Vlado Misajlovski said at a press-conference on Monday.
As he added, the ruling coalition has proven it is more than stable and legitimate, considering it’s won in 66 out of the 81 municipalities.
“This is a big victory and a big responsibility and obligation to do work and deliver results. We thank each citizen that voted for VMRO-DPMNE and our coalition”, Misajlovski stressed.
He also criticised SDSM and DUI, saying both had to undergo reforms.
“Macedonia needs a constructive opposition that will level well-argued criticism and support for reforms. Staff changes with regards to several people within SDS[M] is not the reform they need. [Party leader Venko] Filipce is the problem within SDSM because he’s an extended arm of [former party leader and ex-PM Zoran Zaev], while as long as that is the case, SDSM will be sinking”, the VMRO-DPMNE Vice-President underlined.
Regarding those that didn’t come out to vote or cast invalid ballot papers, Misajlovski stated that VMRO-DPMNE would do work to change their minds through work and projects.
