‘We’re a Macedonian World’, Mucunski Says Regarding Serbian World Issue

“We’re a Macedonian world. The Government works on spreading our foreign policy’s interests”, Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski said on Monday, after he’d been asked about the so-called Serbian world issue.

Also, he stated that criticism was coming from several ex-officials that were part of the previous cabinet. During their term, they had a record-high number of meetings with Serbian counterparts, Mucunski noted.

In that regard, he stressed that Stevo Pendarovski, during his five-year term as President, had held nine meetings with Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic. Mucunski is adamant that there shouldn’t be any dilemmas about the current strategic directions when it comes to foreign policy.

In that regard, the Minister pointed to the signing of strategic partnership documents with the UK and Hungary, stressing also that he was the only Foreign Minister from the Western Balkans received by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the State Department.

“We’re among those that work in the most engaged fashion possible on ongoing projects with the administration in Washington. However, it’s also a fact that we have an obligation to cooperate with our region and with our neighbours, with all countries in Europe”, Minister Mucunski added.
