Wildfire Situation: Serta Remains Most Critical Location

On Sunday morning, the Crisis Management Centre said nine wildfires were still active.

The previous day, that number had stood at 30. The situation continues to be most critical on Serta Mountain, including in relation to Krivolak, and in the Jasen reserve’s surrounding areas.

Commenting on the fire moving towards Bregalnica River, Stip Mayor Ivan Jordanov said fire-fighters from his Municipality would help Army members.

On Thursday, at around 11 pm, in Veles, a major tragedy was avoided when fire-fighters put out a wildfire fewer than 100 metres from reservoirs and cistern containing at least 80 tonnes of gas near the now-defunct Porcelanka factory.

When it comes to the Serbian unit that was part of the efforts to combat the severe wildfires in the Kamov Ka-32 specialised helicopter, it has returned to Serbia.
