On Saturday, President Stevo Pendarovski had a working meeting with the heads of the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Macedonia in the EU member states and the permanent missions in the EU and NATO. The meeting focused on the country’s EU integration in anticipation of the EU Council in June 2021, the situation in the Western Balkans region, the pandemic with COVID-19, as well as the anniversary of Macedonia’s NATO membership. During the meeting, President Pendarovski spoke about the possibilities for the country to move forward in European integration, in the context of the new methodology for conducting the accession process, as well as bilateral issues related to good neighbourly relations. From the country’s diplomats, President Pendarovski requested active engagement in the forthcoming period, pointing to the need to constantly detect opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation with the countries in which they are accredited. The host of the working meeting with the heads of the diplomatic and consular missions of the country in EU countries is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, also held a meeting with them.
