Presidential Race Continues

At a rally in Kisela Voda on Monday, President Stevo Pendarovski, who’s running for a second term, stated that he was convinced that he and SDSM would have a double election victory and the country would be run by a political structure consisting of people who knew North Macedonia had to be part of the EU to be prosperous.

He also commented again on Sunday’s arrest of journalist Furkan Saliu.

“That has shown that VMRO-DPMNE hasn’t changed at all,” Pendarovski stressed.

VMRO-DPMNE’s presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova’s central rally was held in Bitola. Previously, she’d also met citizens in Zrnovci, Vinica, and Kocani.

As she ironically remarked, if constitutional changes are required for EU membership, the country should already be part of the Union considering it has over 30 constitutional changes in its history.

DUI’s candidate, Bujar Osmani, said on the occasion of International Romani Day that if he won, he would have an adviser from the Roma community as part of his cabinet in order to better employ policies to improve housing conditions, to protect the rights of that community, and to introduce programmes for professional training activities to make that community’s members more competitive on the labour market.

The activities of VLEN’s presidential candidate, Arben Taravari, included a meeting with doctors. When it comes to the other candidates, Jakimovski was in Kicevo, Dimitrievski visited Ohrid, while Vankovska was in Bogdanci.
